Azeem K Lakha, DMD
Dr. Lakha is a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon who has limited his practice to Osseointegration Surgery (dental implants) and Osseous (bone) Grafting. Dr. Lakha has extensive experience in implant surgery having been involved in it since the inception of the technology in the United States 25 years ago. He is one of the few surgeons in the world to have been trained in advanced osseointegration surgery by Professor Branemark of Sweden, the inventor of the technology used in todays implants.
Dr. Lakha has pioneered several innovative grafting techniques and instrumentation in the field of osseointegration surgery and bone transplantation. Over the last 20 years he has gained extensive experience in routine and complex cases including bone and implant reconstruction of victims of cancers, tumors, facial trauma, gun shot wounds, cleft lip and palate cases, and unusual congenital syndromes of the head and neck such as Riegerss syndrome, Cliedocranial dysostosis, Osteogenesis Imperfecta and related syndromes.
In addition to his busy surgical practice, Dr. Lakha devotes time to teaching and participating in clinical trials and research. He places a high level of emphasis on an evidence based practice and using methods and products that have undergone extensive scientific scrutiny. Based on these principles, the practice has consistently been on the cutting edge of new technologies and often the first in the region to introduce new surgical methods and restorative components (PIADS).
