Edwin Lee, M.D

Anesthesiologist

Dr. Lee is a board-certified anesthesiologist who has been in private practice since 1987.

He obtained his B.A. from UCLA (Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude), his M.D. from UC San Diego, and completed his internship at the University of Hawaii and his anesthesia residency at UC Irvine.

In medical school, he was a UC Regents Scholar (one of six in a class of 128). At UC Irvine, he was one of three residents selected (from more than 100 doctors in all specialties) for membership in Alpha Omega Alpha (the medical equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa).

Dr. Lee has extensive hospital-based experience in cardiac, thoracic, vascular, trauma, neurosurgical, obstetric, pediatric, and general anesthesia frequently taking care of critically ill patients (e.g., anesthesia for open-heart procedures, massive blood transfusion in trauma patients, inserting monitoring lines into the heart, etc.).

He is married with three boys. He has been on several medical mission trips to Guatemala and Vietnam to provide anesthesia for children with congenital ear deformities.

Dr. Lee previously practiced in Orange County, California and South Lake Tahoe before coming to the Bay Area in 2002 to work at the Palo Alto Medical Foundation.

His current practice is dedicated to providing the highest level of medical care in dental offices and other outpatient surgical venues.
